My name is Becky, I am married to James and we have 2 children, Zak & Indy. I have lived in Clevedon for over 30 years and love it here. I began my career in the Hotel & Catering Industry, working at a number of different hotels, primarily Hotel du Vin as Reservations & Events Manager.
Following my maternity leave, I was looking for a new challenge but didn’t know where to start. Just as Indy’s time at nursery was coming to an end, I sustained a calf injury from running and when I realised that simply resting it was not going to fix it, my husband suggested that I go along as a volunteer ‘body’ at The Massage Training School.
I was blown away by the results, I literally walked in limping and came out walking with ease. Not only that, I was prescribed a few exercises to do at home to strengthen the area, enabling me to get back to running.
During my treatment I was chatting to the student about the course and how he was getting on. His enthusiasm along with the positive results I had experienced, encouraged me to look at the course. Just over a year later I qualified with a BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage (now known as Soft Tissue Therapy) and I am proud to be a member of The Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage.
Since then, I have launched my own business and set up a practice at our home in Clevedon. I also qualified as a ‘RockDoc’, which is a practitioner that has completed a course in Kinesiology taping with RockTape. I have also enjoyed several CPD courses, keeping up to date with the latest findings and look forward to continuing my development with a rehabilitation course already lined up.
I recently started working at a clinic called the Physiotherapy & Pilates Rehabilitation Centre in Clevedon, working with clients who suffer with neurological disorders and the results have been really rewarding.
It’s fair to say, I love my job! I get a real boost out of fixing people and helping them get back to their normal daily activities. I believe that massage, along with the techniques I have listed on this site have a positive effect on the mind, body and soul.
